Inside the bars, music clubs and restaurants. There's no public restroom on the strip. The densest stretch is between Chartres and Royal, where Snug Harbor, the Spotted Cat, Blue Nile, Cafe Negril, the Apple Barrel and Dat Dog all sit within a block of each other. The French Quarter is about five minutes' walk, so the French Market and the Jean Lafitte visitor center are close if you'd rather use a public one.
Do you have to pay to get in?
Sometimes. Several of the music rooms charge a cover or run a drink minimum, and Snug Harbor is ticketed. The restaurants and the casual places don't, so if you just need a restroom, head for one of those rather than a club with a door charge.
What's open late on Frenchmen?
Most of it. The music venues run late into the night and some go until dawn, so at 2 a.m. a bar is your answer here.
