Restrooms on the Lakefront Trail

Where are the restrooms on the Lakefront Trail?

At the beaches and harbors along the route, roughly every mile or two, with smaller stops in between. The big ones each have a beach house, north to south:

  • Montrose Beach
  • North Avenue Beach
  • 31st Street Beach
  • 63rd Street Beach
When are the Lakefront Trail restrooms open?

The dependable window is Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day, which is when the beaches are staffed. Some open earlier in spring and stay on into October. That shifts year to year so it isn't worth counting on.

Where are the restrooms near the Lakefront Trail in winter?

The ones open year round are indoors and spread along the route. Lincoln Park Zoo on the north side is free and open every day, with restrooms inside. Navy Pier covers downtown. At the south end the Museum Campus sits a block off the path.

Are there accessible restrooms on the Lakefront Trail?

Yes at North Avenue Beach. For anywhere else on the trail, tap the ADA filter to see what's near you.
