Where Scusi's place information comes from.
Scusi combines public and open place data, official government records, and community contributions. Source information supports a listing; it does not guarantee current access, hours, amenities, or conditions unless Scusi says a person verified them.
Open place data
Place and map data includes OpenStreetMap contributors. Foursquare Open Source Places is © Foursquare Labs, Inc. and licensed under Apache 2.0. Scusi may transform, deduplicate, categorize, or combine source records before they appear in the app.
Government and public sources
Scusi uses vetted public and open government records from official agency channels, including transportation, parks, municipal, county, and federal sources. Records are transformed, filtered, deduplicated, and combined before they appear in Scusi.
Scusi keeps detailed source provenance internally and publishes public agency credits or disclaimers where source terms require them. A source credit does not mean the source agency endorses Scusi.
Licence notes
Caltrans and Iowa records are used under CC BY 4.0. Kentucky records are available under CC0 1.0. New York records are used under the Open-NY Terms of Use. Wisconsin records are subject to the WisDOT GIS data legal notices, disclaimer and terms of use. Washington records are subject to the WSDOT travel information disclaimer.
Agency disclaimers
Colorado
Data has been modified for use from its original State of Colorado source. The State makes no representation or warranty as to completeness, accuracy, timeliness, or content; disclaims express and implied warranties; and provides changing data for use at the user's own risk.
Florida
Source: Florida Department of Transportation public data and GIS portal records. FDOT GIS data is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties. Scusi does not use FDOT PRR-2026-7482 or FDOT-linked records marked with third-party redistribution, resale, or transfer restrictions.
Minnesota
Minnesota and MnDOT provide the data “as is” without guarantees of accuracy, currency, completeness, suitability, or reliability and assume no responsibility for damages associated with its use. See the full MnDOT disclaimer.
Montana
This data set is provided “as-is” without warranty of any kind. The Montana Department of Transportation makes no representations regarding accuracy or completeness, assumes no responsibility for suitability, and is not liable for damages arising from errors in the data set.
Oklahoma
Source: Oklahoma Department of Transportation. Its data may change or be removed without notice. Use of Oklahoma transportation content does not constitute agency endorsement of Scusi.
Utah
Source: Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT). UDOT data is provided “as is” without warranty regarding accuracy, completeness, or fitness for purpose. UDOT assumes no liability for application performance, derived data, or user-generated overrides.
Corrections and questions
A source credit does not mean the source agency endorses Scusi. If a source, licence, or listing needs correction, email hello@thescusi.com.
