Not many. Fewer than twenty across the whole city work as true public restrooms and only about five of those are downtown. The city has started installing smart restrooms in the parks and along the BeltLine.
How do Atlanta's smart restrooms work?
You unlock them with your phone, by scanning the code on the unit, sending a text or using the app. There's a ten minute limit inside. A dead phone locks you out.
Do Atlanta's MARTA stations have restrooms?
Some do. You ask a station agent to open one rather than walking in. They generally run 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Five Points, the main downtown transfer station, has its restrooms closed for construction.
